19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player won his maiden title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
Victory also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a close third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a point at the net, with his opponent incapable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
